The Feritscope DMP30 from Helmut Fischer is a handheld instrument for nondestructive ferrite and martensite content measurement. It supports onsite measurements of austenitic and duplex steels, including weld seams and austenitic claddings in chemical, power-generation, and process plants.
The Feritscope DMP30 uses light, sound, and vibration to indicate whether measured values fall within set tolerances. FISIQ® T software supports measurement-data transfer, evaluation, and reporting, connecting onsite readings with inspection documentation.

Ferrite-content inspection can involve taking readings at multiple locations along a weld seam or across an austenitic cladding. The Feritscope DMP30 supports these onsite measurements on stainless steel pipes, vessels, and boilers, including determining how ferrite content varies along a weld.
The DMP30 also supports locating weld seams on polished surfaces. This gives inspection teams a measurement-based way to identify seams when the surface finish makes their location less apparent.
The Feritscope DMP30 uses magnetic induction to measure ferrite content in austenitic and duplex steels. Its measuring range is 0.1–80% Fe or 0.1–110 Ferrite Number (FN), and its supported applications include determining deformation martensite content in austenitic materials.
The probe responds to all magnetizable microstructural components, including delta ferrite, deformation martensite, and other ferritic phases.
Light, sound, and vibration indicate whether measured values are within set tolerance limits. These three forms of feedback let operators monitor tolerance status during measurement without relying solely on the numerical display.
The Cal Check function provides a separate check of the calibration currently in use. Operators can check that calibration during their measurement workflow, alongside monitoring individual readings against the selected tolerance limits.
FISIQ T software recognizes the connected instrument automatically and supports transferring, evaluating, and reporting measurement data. Operators can export readings to Excel and create measurement logs or customized reports using templates adapted to their documentation needs.
The Feritscope DMP30 supports USB-C and Bluetooth data transfer. Available data-handling options include a REST API, simulated keyboard entry, direct Excel export, and programmable Bluetooth communication with customer software, give you several options for incorporating readings into existing data workflows.
