The Tinker & Rasor APS is a portable high-voltage holiday detector designed for inspecting protective coatings on pipelines, tanks, vessels, and other coated structures. Its ergonomic stick-style design combines the detector, controls, and voltmeter into a single instrument, providing a portable solution for field coating inspections.
The APS delivers regulated pulse DC output from 800 volts to 35,000 volts and allows inspectors to adjust voltage settings to match coating thickness requirements. It features an integrated digital voltmeter, audible and visual holiday indication, an instant shutoff safety switch, adjustable volume control, and a rechargeable battery system to support coating quality assurance inspections across a wide range of applications.
The Tinker & Rasor APS is commonly used for inspecting protective coatings on pipelines, tanks, pressure vessels, structural steel, ship hulls, and other coated assets. Its adjustable high-voltage output supports inspection across a wide range of coating thicknesses, making it suitable for both new construction projects and ongoing asset integrity programs.
