OGI Certification Course

By: ITC—Infrared Training Center, MFE Inspection Solutions

MFE’s Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Training Course covers setting up and operating FLIR optical gas imaging cameras, including adjustments for various environmental conditions to efficiently detect gas leaks.

It details how to identify leaks under different environmental scenarios, the types of gases detectable, and leak size constraints. The curriculum integrates basic infrared theory and heat transfer principles.

Practical sessions, crucial for understanding, involve lab or field exercises with leak detection demonstrations through videos, focusing on aspects such as thermal contrast and gas plume motion. Instruction on basic inspection procedures includes equipment handling, planning, permits, safety protocols, and reporting.

Graduates receive a certification in optical gas imaging camera operation.
