Sorama CAM iV64s: Portable Acoustic Intelligence

The Sorama CAM iV64s isn’t just about finding sound, it’s about understanding it. With specialized software packages and AI-powered anomaly detection, it goes beyond surface-level inspection to provide deeper insights into equipment health and system performance.

Instead of reacting to problems after they occur, the CAM iV64s equips teams with predictive diagnostics that make maintenance smarter, safer, and far more efficient.

Detect Leaks & Predict Failures

The Sorama CAM iV64s pinpoints leaks by capturing the ultrasonic signatures they produce, tiny pressure differences that escape through joints, valves, and fittings. Much like a flashlight reveals what’s hidden in the dark, the CAM iV64s makes invisible leaks instantly visible on screen.

Beyond leaks, its AI-powered anomaly detection learns the “normal” sound profile of machines and flags early deviations, enabling faster troubleshooting, smarter maintenance, and greater operational reliability.

Electrical Safety Through Sound Visualization

With the Sorama CAM iV64s, electrical issues no longer stay hidden. Its Partial Discharge Inspection mode uses Phase-Resolved Partial Discharge (PRPD) analysis to uncover insulation defects in high-voltage equipment, such as internal voids, external discharges, or surface tracking—long before they escalate into failures.

Partial discharge itself is like a mini electrical leak: tiny sparks inside cables or components that you can’t see or hear, but which steadily erode insulation until it gives way. PRPD makes those sparks visible by plotting the strength of each discharge (amplitude) against the exact point in the electrical cycle (phase angle) when it occurs.

Over hundreds of cycles, this pattern reveals how the defect behaves over time, enabling teams to classify whether it’s external, internal, or surface tracking discharge. Armed with this insight, operators can target the root cause and act before minor defects turn into costly breakdowns.

Catch Every Leak & Cut Every Loss

The Sorama CAM iV64s makes it simple to identify and quantify leaks, turning wasted energy into clear, measurable data. By not only locating the source but also estimating the size, flow rate, and associated cost of a leak, it helps teams prioritize repairs where they’ll save the most.

At the same time, its anomaly detection software visualizes deviations in machine performance, preventing small inefficiencies from becoming costly failures. The result is greater efficiency, reduced operating costs, and a smarter approach to maintenance.

Pinpoint Sound & Visualize In Real-Time

At the heart of the Sorama CAM iV64s is beamforming technology, an advanced signal processing method that pinpoints sound sources by calculating the exact differences in the time it takes for sound waves to reach each microphone in its array. This allows the camera to localize sound across a wide frequency range, from low audible hums to ultrasonic emissions and at distances from 0.3 meters (1 foot) up to 120 meters (394 feet).

The results are rendered as a SoundSurface, a dynamic visualization of sound pressure levels (SPL) overlaid on the live camera feed. Users can fine-tune this display with adjustable blob size, dB scaling, and customizable color palettes, ensuring clarity whether they’re analyzing faint ultrasonic leaks or high-intensity mechanical impacts.

By combining raw acoustic precision with intuitive visualization, the CAM iV64s transforms complex sound environments into actionable insight, helping teams trace the root cause of problems with confidence and speed.

Sorama CAM iV64Ex: Intrinsically Safe Acoustic Inspections

The Sorama CAM iV64Ex delivers the full power of the iV64s in an intrinsically safe design, certified for use in Zone 2 explosive atmospheres.

While nearly identical in capability to the standard model, the iV64Ex is purpose-built for hazardous areas: it includes mandatory anti-static straps for safe handling, weighs slightly more at 2.3 kg (6.2 lb), and is rated for operation from -10 °C to +50 °C. To ensure safety, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C, and battery swaps are disabled inside hazardous zones.

Despite these differences, the iV64Ex retains the same advanced acoustic features, including beamforming precision, SoundSurface visualization, and AI-driven anomaly detection.

By reducing the time service teams spend in high-risk zones while still enabling fast, accurate leak detection and fault analysis, the CAM iV64Ex safeguards both people and assets in the most demanding environments.

Teach It Once & Let AI Do The Rest

The Sorama CAM iV64s incorporates AI-powered anomaly detection to transform inspections from reactive to predictive. Using Training Mode, the device learns the acoustic fingerprint of a healthy machine in about 60 seconds. By capturing the baseline sound profile, everything from subtle bearing resonance to pump cavitation harmonics, the Sorama CAM iV64s creates a reference model directly on the device.

In Measurement Mode, new readings are compared against this model in real time, with results displayed as a simple anomaly percentage on a color-coded scale from green (healthy) to red (critical). This means operators no longer have to rely on guesswork or wait for obvious signs of wear. Instead, the Sorama CAM iV64s continuously monitors for deviations, identifying faults at their earliest stages and enabling true predictive maintenance.

Catch hidden faults early with the Sorama CAM iV64s and keep your operations running smoothly.
