The Teledyne FLIR MUVE C360 is a multi-gas detector completely integrated with an uncrewed aerial system (UAS) to provide real-time continuous monitoring of chemical hazards while on the move.
The sensor block boasts 8-channels, which includes a photoionization detector (PID), lower explosive limit (LEL) detector, and six other sensors. The integrated snorkel is designed to negate the effects of rotor wash, extending past the propellers to sample the unperturbed air. The MUVE C360 sensor block quickly latches to a proprietary integration dock mounted to the UAS.
The FLIR calibration station features the same dock, so the operator can easily connect for routine sensor verification. Sensor readouts are prioritized based on alarm conditions and are displayed real-time on the pilot’s interface in the FLIR VueLink™ app. The MUVE C360 is a time-saving, game-changer for emergency responders, industrial safety officers, and environmental monitoring experts.
The MUVE 360 sensor is compatible with drones such as the DJI Matrice Series.
The integration of the MUVE C360 on the Boston Dynamics Spot robot allows it to navigate through obstacles and avoid hazards while scanning the area for potential gas leaks.
Equipped with the MUVE C360, Spot can provide workers with real-time and continuous monitoring of air quality in hazardous work environments, reducing the risks associated with gas detection for human workers.
Additionally, the sensor has a unique feature that allows it to shut down Spot if it detects a gas plume that triggers a crucial Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) level. This feature is a safety measure that helps prevent potential explosions or fires in hazardous work environments.
Using the Teledyne FLIR MUVE C360 and Spot Integration, workers can gather a comprehensive overview of an active scene, including visuals and chemical identification, before entering hazardous work environments, allowing for proactive measures to be taken immediately in the event of an incident.
With the ability to autonomously cover a larger area than a stationary detector, Spot provides workers with continuous and accurate monitoring of air quality in real-time, allowing for an initial assessment of hazards before putting the health and safety of the team at risk.
