Control Spot with its out-of-box controller or through the developer-friendly API. Spot’s tablet controller is designed to get you up and running quickly, with easy access to many of the robot’s capabilities, including body posing, walking gaits, obstacle avoidance, local navigation, and calibration. The tablet controller also enables the creation of basic autonomous missions through Autowalk, a feature where the user can create predefined routes for Spot to follow.

The Spot system has been audited by third-party security experts. Messages between the robot and clients, as well as all data logged by the robot, are encrypted. No data is sent to Boston Dynamics without your explicit consent.

Autonomy

Spot autonomously navigates over or around obstacles in its path using the real-time mapping conducted by the perception system. Spot also comes equipped with Autowalk, an easy-to-use tablet feature that allows users to record and replay autonomous missions.

Customizable

Spot’s Body Camera Color Update

Spot’s five stereo cameras have been upgraded to provide full-color imagery along with the existing depth information.  This change improves the operator’s ability to navigate Spots environment from the tablet or Spots remote operation software, Scout.

Scout Remote Operation Software: User Improvements

Experience enhanced functionality with our remote operation software, Scout. Now, you can take advantage of new permission sets and a dedicated dashboard to effortlessly review the progress of your robots. With the latest update, you have the flexibility to edit mission and action parameters for all inspection types directly within Scout, eliminating the need to re-record a mission.

Redesigned Human-Oriented Hardware

Spot undergoes a transformative evolution in how it interacts with your team on the ground. The redesigned hardware includes an audio-visual system that features pre-configured light patterns and tones, effectively notifying workers in the vicinity when the robot is carrying out actions. Additionally, a physical emergency stop button has been added to the back of the robot, complementing the existing quick stop options on the tablet and in Scout. To enhance stability on slippery surfaces like wet floors, Spot now boasts improved gaits. Moreover, when equipped with a Spot EAP 2 payload, the robot gains the ability to detect moving objects such as people or forklifts. Upon identifying a moving object in its path, Spot will signal, maintain a safe distance, and exercise heightened caution as the quadruped robot continues its mission.

The Spot Cam + IR is a versatile and rugged surveillance camera designed for demanding environments. With its protected cabling and sealed electronics, it is built to withstand harsh conditions and ensure reliable performance. The camera is equipped with a roll cage, providing crash protection and enhancing its durability.

Featuring a pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera with a 30x optical zoom, the Spot Cam + IR allows for precise monitoring and detailed surveillance. It also includes a spherical camera with a 360 x 170° view, enabling comprehensive coverage of the surroundings.

The camera offers a USB port for convenient saving of image data, allowing for easy retrieval and analysis. Additionally, it is equipped with two speakers and microphones, enabling two-way audio communication for enhanced interactivity and security.

Rajant ES1 is a smaller, lighter series of BreadCrumbs for an instamesh network ideal for Spot. The ES1 provides reliability and performance in hard-to-network environments and can work independently as a private network without relying on LTE towers.
