MFE Inspection Solutions supported Hess Corporation with their deployment of the advanced quadruped mobile robot “Spot” on the Stampede Platform offshore Gulf of Mexico to collect high-quality data. The field trial proved Hess could leverage the fully autonomous robot to perform daily inspections. In addition, Spot is used to explore a range of artificial intelligence applications collecting reliable, repeatable data. Hess is currently creating an autonomous, self-optimizing oil field, leveraging multiple technologies to increase efficiency, improve reliability and reduce environmental impact.
