Real-Time Diver Tracking for Safer Underwater Operations

The Sonardyne DiveTrack was developed to simplify underwater diver tracking without sacrificing performance. Building on Sonardyne’s proven USBL positioning and acoustic telemetry technologies, the system provides real-time diver tracking, communication, and mission awareness in a portable package that can be deployed quickly from virtually any vessel or shoreline location.

Designed for rapid deployment from docks, vessels, or RHIBs, DiveTrack requires no specialized acoustic expertise to operate. The system integrates with leading dive computers and rebreathers, making it a practical solution for commercial, military, scientific, and public safety dive teams seeking to improve operational awareness and diver safety.

Track and Communicate with Multiple Divers in Real Time

DiveTrack gives dive supervisors a complete operational picture by simultaneously tracking and communicating with up to eight divers.

The intuitive software displays diver locations, supports diver recall, and provides real-time mission updates, giving supervisors continuous situational awareness as underwater conditions change.

By monitoring every diver from a single interface, teams can coordinate complex underwater operations more effectively while adding an additional layer of safety and operational awareness throughout the dive.

Portable Deployment for Fast, Simple Dive Operations

Unlike permanently installed diver tracking systems, DiveTrack is engineered for portability. The complete solution is transported in two rugged Peli cases—one containing the command unit and another serving as both a charging station and transport case for the transponders—allowing teams to deploy in minutes with minimal setup.

The command unit includes integrated USBL positioning, Wi-Fi connectivity, a GNSS heading system for calibration-free setup, and space for a laptop or tablet, helping operators get up and running quickly. Because the interface is designed for ease of use, dive teams do not need extensive acoustic positioning experience to begin tracking divers safely and effectively.

Reliable Performance in Challenging Shallow Water

Acoustic tracking becomes more difficult in shallow water, where reflections and multipath interference can reduce positioning performance. DiveTrack addresses these challenges with Sonardyne’s digital signal architecture, specifically optimized for reliable operation in difficult shallow-water environments.

The system combines intelligent acoustic management with omni-directional tracking and a maximum operating range exceeding 1,500 meters, allowing dive supervisors to maintain reliable situational awareness across a wide range of operational scenarios.

Integrates with Modern Dive Equipment

DiveTrack is designed to fit naturally into existing diving workflows rather than requiring operators to replace their preferred equipment. The system integrates directly with industry-leading Shearwater DiveCAN computers and is compatible with JFD Stealth and Shadow rebreathers, allowing dive teams to build on equipment they already know and trust.

A universal connector system also supports compatibility across multiple dive computer platforms, providing flexibility as equipment requirements evolve. By working with familiar dive equipment, organizations can add advanced diver tracking capabilities without significantly changing established operational procedures or requiring divers to learn entirely new systems.

Additional DiveTrack Features

DiveTrack includes several additional features that can help simplify day-to-day operations:

  • Intelligent charging station charges up to eight transponders simultaneously
  • Automatic safe-flight mode prepares transponders for transportation and storage
  • More than 10 hours of operational endurance for both the command unit and transponders
  • IP67-rated protection for operation in demanding marine environments
  • Wi-Fi connectivity and electronic chart support for easier setup and diver tracking
  • Export-friendly availability with no ITAR restrictions or UK export licence requirement
